Recently I find that all three of my children are afflicted with allergies. The runny noses and congestion that I always thought was a cold, turns out to be allergies. What I thought was, "Oh, this will be easy to contain and conquer" well, it was not. I figured I would just keep the dust down in my home and all would be good. Yes, it might be, IF all they are allergic to is dust but that was not to be. Such is my luck!

Having been to many a Doctor and finally finding one who did the correct diagnosis helped considerably. Our new Doctor suggested I research and obtain hypoallergenic bedding for a beginning. He assured me that this would help considerably. Of course, I started looking online, and found many sites to help me consider just what would be the best for all three of my children's various allergy problems.

I started with mattress pads and found many available in all sizes. I chose soy memory foam fitted mattress pads for each of my children's beds. They fit perfectly and feel wonderful to the touch. Sheets and pillow cases were the next thing I purchased and I chose anti-bacterial 100% bamboo. They came in many contemporary print and solid colors, which helped to coordinate with the colors and styles that had already been chosen for their rooms.

In selecting bedding, such as blankets and comforters, I also found they could be purchased hypoallergenic, and in many colors and sizes. Down alternative was my choice for two of my children, and a silk comforter for the third. I received these recommendations from my Doctor due to the various allergies of the children and much research on my part. The pillows chosen are called organic clouds and are very soft and snuggly, according to my little ones. They so enjoy the thought of 'sleeping on a cloud'. The children raved about the comfort of the pillows so much that I went back online and ordered two more for my wife and myself although neither one of us have allergies of any kind. Yes, we love them!

Since changing out our children's bedding to hypoallergenic, we seem to have far less runny noses around our house, and far less cranky children. No more having to wake up in the middle of the night, with fussy crying children, coughing and wheezing. I highly recommend anyone with allergy problems to do their research and they will be amazed with what they find in hypoallergenic bedding. It has changed my life from being the worry wart Mom, taking my children to Doctor after Doctor, treating one cold after another with useless antibiotics. Who would have thought that purchasing new bedding could possibly help with these problems! So, go out, hit the bedding stores or research online, which I did with wonderful results. Even with today's economy, being what it is, you can find exactly what you want and need at a reasonable cost. Believe me, it is worth the time, effort and cost, just to have healthy children who are not crying out at night, and now they wake up happy in the morning! Good luck and good sleeping!
