Hyundai In The News
As Hyundai cars become more popular, many people in the world of cars are starting to take notice
. While some such experts were skeptical when Hyundai cars began to appear in their area, many have since done an about face. It seems that Hyundai cars are winning over many people in the new media.
The Telegraph UK's automotive writer, Neil Lyndon, admitted prior to driving the Hyundai i30 that he had long held prejudices about the brand. He said he never thought Hyundai cars would be able to compete with the likes of the Ford Focus or the VW Golf. This is what he said after he test drove, " [F]or price, for quality, for comfort, for reliability, for after-sales backup, the i30 is not just a contender: it's an obvious front-runner." He later goes on to say that Hyundai has managed to crack into the snobbiest car markets in Europe --no small achievement considering that's the home turf of BMW, Volkswagen, and even Ferrari.
I believe that Mr. Lyndon's quote pretty accurately captures why consumers are making the switch to Hyundai. When people see that they can lease a Hyundai at such a low price, they automatically assume there is a catch. The car world is full of vehicles that are cheap, but of shabby construction or poor design. Hyundai offers low prices but actually delivers on quality and support, according to some even better than more 'prestigious' brands.
Across the sea, here in America Edmunds said this about the Hyundai Elantra, "Thanks to head-turning styling, a fuel-efficient engine and a long list of standard safety features and upscale options, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra is a top pick for a small sedan." That is a great review considering how harsh Edmunds' reviews can be. Notice that Edmunds brings up the same positive qualities of a Hyundai Elantra lease. They talk about safety, the standardization of what were once considered luxury features, and fuel efficacy.
Many people are hesitant to buy a foreign car considering that Hyundai is technically a Korean company. The fact of the matter is that 80% of Hyundai cars are built right here in the USA. They are designed here and many Hyundai execs live here in America as well. Buying a Hyundai car is just as much of a boost to the American economy as buying a Ford or Chrysler. If that coupled with all the features is not enough to convince you to lease a Hyundai, then I don't think anything will!
