I Am Not Sure That I Want To Commit To Her - 3 Things You May Need To Consider

Have you been feeling the pressure coming from the woman you are dating that you need to make some kind of a commitment to her

, and even though you care about her a lot, you just are not sure that you are ready to take that step? Welcome to the club, my man. Plenty of guys have had to feel this pressure and it is not always easy to deal with. You have to be careful, because if you make it seem like you totally don't want to make any kind of a commitment, then you might be seeing her walk out the door. Of course, you don't want to see that, but you also know that you don't really know what you want to do right now. And the more pressure you feel about this situation, the harder it is to make a decision on what you need to do or what you need to say to her.

Here are 3 things that you may want to consider if your girlfriend is making it clear that she wants some kind of a commitment from you:

1) Does she want this to happen because she has some sort of a timeline in her mind of how the relationship should progress?

It's not that rare to find out the woman you are dating already has things figure out in her mind of how she wants things to be. So, if she feels like dating a guy for six months or a year should mean an automatic commitment, then that is a good thing to know. You may have to tread carefully if this is the case, because she may be really serious about following that timeline.

2) Can you see yourself losing her and would your life get boring real quick if she was not a part of it?

You also have to consider what it would be like if your girlfriend decided that your not being ready meant that she was going to leave you. If you think that could happen, then you need to think about what your life will be like if she is not a part of it. Will it be an endless sea of nights sitting on the couch, channel surfing and stuffing yourself with pizza? If so, then maybe you do want to consider the idea of going along with what she wants. It might be the better choice for you.

3) Is she just testing you to see what you want?

Sometimes a woman will bring up the issue of committing to one another just to test the waters to see where your head is at. She may not be as ready as you think she is and she might be trying to see if you are serious about her or what is going on. So, just because it may seem like she is pressuring you to make a commitment to her, that may not be the case after all. It may be just a clever ruse to see what you are going to say and do.
