I remember working in a very high profile recording studio in Atlanta that had six separate recording rooms reserved for artists to come in and record. The Artists and the managers never knew it but we would reserve each room by the quality of music the artist would put out. As soon as I stepped in and heard what they were doing I was immediately shocked by the quality of production that I was hearing (it sounded great!) and it wasn't even mixed yet. It sounded like the hip hop songs that were already on the radio. I turned to my friend and told him that we absolutely had to let these guys use the microphone in our best room to record and without charging extra and that's exactly what we did. The song became a hit in the Atlanta area at all the clubs and even the commercial radio stations were playing it within five months. That day that I heard the production that they were doing, using a cheap computer program and a laptop, was the last day I ever used my MPC.
