Sufferers of tinnitus are conscious of a ringing, buzzing or tingling noise in their ear(s) that has no external source, and drives you mad.

It's not surprising then that many people search for safe, effective tinnitus treatments. The good news is...such treatments do exist, it's just hard to determine what method(s) actually work and which ones don't! With so many so-called "tinnitus solutions" out there, it's difficult to know.

I started suffering from tinnitus after coming down with a bad bout of flu in my mid 40's. Despite constantly telling my doctor that I couldn't hear properly in my left ear, and that there was a feeling of something pressing on my eardrum - she kept telling me it was just the aftermath of the flu and that it would eventually go away once I fully recovered. Of course it didn't go away at all, in fact my ear disorder got a whole lot worse over time.

I started reading all I could about this unbearable hearing condition and must confess... I felt pretty miserable and was getting discouraged after a while. The more I read, the more I began to feel like there was no cure for me other than taking a multitude of prescription drugs, or maybe even undergoing some form of corrective surgery on my ear(s) which would be expensive. Like most people - I hadn't yet discovered the existence of any safe, "effective" tinnitus treatments.

Anyways, the constant ringing in my ear seemed to permeate everything I did and gradually, as it got louder - I realized that I couldn't concentrate on anything for any length of time. As a result my temper was certainly on a very short fuse, and I was oftentimes cranky because I was so frustrated.

Having found myself gradually becoming unable to work or sleep without being constantly aware of this most awful condition, which included a "whooshing" noise in my ear, I decided to ask for a second opinion.

Unfortunately, the "ear specialist" I saw thought that maybe the fact that I had become overly-anxious about the condition wasn't helping, so he gave me some prescription drugs to try to ease the situation. I decided to try the drugs but they provided very temporary relief, but they certainly didn't cure the problem. I Hear A Ringing In My Left Ear
