Design and Build

It is so small and thin! This is the first impression that IBM ThinkPad X300 gives us, the thickness of Thinkpad X300 just is 0.7 to 0.9 inches, and the weight is 2.9 pounds with a 3-cell battery, 3.3 pounds with a 6-cell battery. The Thinkpad X300 is more rigid and sturdy than previous ThinkPads X series'. The internal chassis and roll cage is made from the advanced carbon-fiber and glass-fiber material that provides both strength and light weight. Lenovo IBM Thinkpad X300 uses magnesium alloy as the base in order to protect the motherboard from flexing, it also uses carbon fiber and glass fiber for the lid.

Screen and Display

The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 sports 13.3-inch LED WXGA widescreen, that is reason why the top cover of laptop is thinner than previous', the resolution is 1440 x 900 pixels with a matte finish, so it is comfortable for the user to browse web. There is a 1.3-megapixel webcam and noise-canceling microphone above the screen.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The IBM ThinkPad X300 with pointing stick and touchpad offers the function of fingerprint reader and stereo speakers, it is easy to type on..The full-sized keyboard on the ThinkPad X300 has zero flex, the keys of Lenovo ThinkPad laptop was finished by the matte so that they don't wear and get all shiny over time. Even the palm rest area is pretty neat, it has a rubberized paint finish so it both feels and looks nice. The chassis on the thinkpad x300 is very thin and the keys still have an amazing amount of travel,you can get large Tab, Caps Lock, Shift, Return and Backspace keys at anytime.

Wireless and Networking

The IBM ThinkPad X300 laptop provides Bluetooth and 802.11ag wireless,it has speedy wired networking thanks to a gigabit ethernet controller, but Lenovo drops the dial-up modem, so you can buy the external modem that plugs into one of the three USB ports,the wireless USB circuitry for connecting to wireless USB hubs and wireless USB devices, and ThinkPad X300 supports the Mobile WiMAX when networks become available.

Ports and Connections

The IBM ThinkPad X300 laptop has three USB ports, VGA and Ethernet connectors, headphone and mic jacks, and thin 7mm DVD burner on one side, but no card slots. It can run thid ports of Audio out, microphone in, monitor out, Kensington lock slot. Lenovo uses the thinnest DVD burner in the industry and offers a 64GB solid state drive (SSD) that is smaller, lighter, and more durable than a traditional hard drive.

Battery Life

The IBM ThinkPad X300 powered by 3-cell or 6-cell Lithium-Polymer battery . The battery life of ThinkPad X300 is about 4.3 hours to 6.5 hours. Four hours isn't enough for most user.
