ICx Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICXT) Enters Into Transportation Contract Worth up to $11 Million

ICx Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICXT)transportation develops and implements turnkey solutions for a full range of ITS and transportation applications, helping clients improve their transportation system operations. The company develops projects to meet client needs for safer, more efficient transportation systems. They use their expertise in ITS deployments, advanced traveler information networks, systems and software engineering, and project and program management to help clients better serve their customersthe traveling public. ICx has developed and deployed traveler information systems available on the phone and Internet, such as a statewide 511 system for New Jersey. It provides expertise in operations, lane and sign control, systems management, electronic tolling solutions, and a full spectrum of engineering services.

Providing a full range of services as Systems Manager for the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), ICx helped to develop a ten-year strategic transportation plan. Today, it was awarded a systems manager contract valued at up to $11 million by the City and County of Honolulu for a Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC). The City and County of Honolulu, in partnership with the HDOT, are working to implement a JTMC with the primary purpose of actively managing traffic both during normal and incident operations. This new contract will allow ICx to assist the City and County of Honolulu to design and implement its JTMC which will provide active traffic management functions, improving transportation safety, efficiency, and the quality of life on O'ahu. With the contract currently funded for $2.7 million, the company will support the design and implementation of the technologies and systems within the JTMC building that enable operations. The JTMC is planned for occupancy in 2014.
