But to think of a fashion style that covered the twentieth century is impossible because there were so many different trends from the early part of the century which was still very Victorian, through the roaring twenties and on to the swinging sixties. From Victorian to hippy in less than seventy years covers a whole lot of changes.

The more mature person may actually see a fashion come round a second time in their lives and is therefore less likely to be swayed to empty the wardrobe and buy the latest. Indeed, if you are a saver or hoarder of clothing you might find that out of fashion pair of flared jeans will be all the vogue in the year 2020. It might not fit around the waist but one part of your anatomy doesn't change at all and that's your feet. So no matter what ladies shoe size you are, take a tip and keep all your shoes; they may come back in fashion one day.
