System administrator also called as IT system administrator is someone who has the responsibility to manage and run network and network related issues. System administrator may belong to IT, Electronics or it may be from Communication Engineering firm. Normally system administrator engaged in installing, establishing, sustaining and managing servers and other computer related issues like security, trouble shooting and planning that how effectively he/she provides technical support to staff. In order to successfully do his/her job, system administrator must possess high technical skills, abilities and responsibilities.

System administrator plays a vital role in IT field therefore he/she possess high worth and responsibilities, some of the main responsibilities of system administrator are

Must keep backups, logs and notify the key issues of computer system

Effectively install, troubleshoot, set up and integrate new advanced technologies into existing system

Need to verify and manage all the configuration changes

Must be able to install and configure new hardware and software

Must be able to add, delete, edit account information data

He must be able to easily maintain system and need to ensure that the connected peripherals are working properly or not

Must monitor network communication

Mainly in organization whether large or small doesnt matters system administrator has full access for the system as they dont have any restriction therefore their responsibility is also very high, because if any security related issue arise or secure data is leaked then system administrator job may get risky. System administrator can automate his/her some of the task by running some scripts like creation of new user, resetting password, locking or unlocking user account mechanism etc. System Administrator must be available when server or work station goes down so that he/she quickly and rapidly identify and resolve the problem, system administer must be able to quickly fix the issue otherwise organization has to suffer a lot. Normally system administrators are not developers and also they are not solution advisor or solution provider but they must have skills to understand the behavior of software and to deploy it and resolve all the trouble shooting problems. If the organization is large or the technology which they offer is complex then system administrator job gets tough and he has to work as full time. If a system administrator also manages your network related tasks then he must know the network type of organization. System administrator must daily perform the computer backups of staff; he must ensure antivirus software so that virus may not infect the system data.

System administrator field has worth and importance therefore system administrators must be strong and they must set a career goal in order to move forward as they must know and keep the track of all the advancements and technologies and due to enhancement of their skills and career growth, they must get some certificates which will move them to the peak.
