Icc T20 World Cup Carnival All Set To Begin In Caribbean

AFTER ENJOYING the thrill and suspense of the much hyped Indian Premier League(IPL)

, the world of cricket is desperately waiting for the international version of T20. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is going to organize T20 world cup in Caribbean islands. The Twenty20 World Cup tournament will begin from April 30 and will continue till May 16. Twelve countries will participate in the tournament.

All 12 teams participating in the tournament have been divided in four groups. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Australia are in Group A, Sri Lanka , New Zealand and Zimbabwe is in Group B., while Africa, India and Afghanistan are in Group C, West Indies, England and Ireland have been placed in Group D.

One team from each group will be eliminated in stage one and two teams from each group will go into stage two. The super Eight stage group will be formed keeping the best performers in the mind.

This will be third T20 world cup. The atmosphere of West Indies is going to make it one of the best tournament in this season. Earlier this tournament was scheduled to be held in India, but the concern of monsoons and security threats led to the shifting of the venue.

India will play its first match against Afghanistan at Gros Islet on May 1. The tournament will begin with match between New Zealand and Srilanka on April 30.

This 18 days cricket carnival will bring business opportunity for Caribbeans. Thousands of tourists from across the world are likely to pour in to enjoy shorter version of cricket.

Indian version of the T20 cricket was a huge hit recently but embroiled in management related controversy. The betting and fixing allegations are making headlines in India, but the game will go on irrespective of Nationality, location and popularity.

Defending champion Pakistan will have tough days ahead after Pakistan cricket Board's decision to ban some of the players is going to affect the morale of the team. Whereas the Indian team will find it tough to keep themselves fit in Caribbean conditions. Successful experiment with spinners is not going to help M S Dhoni much in West Indies.

Two new teams, Afghanistan and Ireland, will have great learning experience.
