Walt Disney Home Entertainment gave its fans yet another hit teenage drama flick in 2005, aptly named Ice Princess. A big hit with the younger generation, the Ice Princess Widescreen Edition is a mesmerizing tale of aspirations, dreams and determination. There is a lot to learn from Casey Carlyle, the protagonist.

Casey Carlyle, played by Michelle Trachtenberg of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fame, is a geek who loves and excels in physics. She is a genius and is pressed by one of her teachers to work on a physics project that she could use as her presentation to Harvard University. For this project, Casey decides to apply all elements of physics to ice skating! Through her project, Casey tries to depict all the elements of physics that are applicable in figure skating. In order to do justice to her project, she herself decides to become a part of a skating club. Slowly, her love for physics and dedicated project work make her fall in love with ice skating. Not only does Casey become a great ice skater herself but also helps fellow figure skaters improve their skills.

Meanwhile, Casey's figure skating coach Tina Harwood, played brilliantly by Kim Cattrall, forces her daughter Gennifer, played by Hayden Panettiere, to follow a strict diet and training routine, which frustrates Gen more and more each day! Gen reaches her breaking point when Tina tries to spoil Casey's performance at a skating competition. Finally, Gen quits of her own accord and Tina starts coaching Casey with all her heart and determination. Casey also meets Gen's handsome brother who becomes her love interest in the movie. Casey goes on to practice hard for Sectionals and decides to quit Harvard, disappointing her mother Joan, played by an incredible Joan Cusack.

Will Casey really do what her heart is telling her to? Or will she quit skating and finish her project in time to present at Harvard? Ice Princess Widescreen Edition takes its viewers on a journey of a young girl in search of her own identity, purpose and passion in life.
