For instance, they may have certain rates listed on their website, but if you go through a discount travel website, you should be able to find discounted rates. And if you call the hotel on the phone, they may even offer you a special deal, or at least something different from what you saw on their website. Make this work for you by checking all your sources and then going with the cheapest option you can find.

Also keep in mind that a low rate on the room may not always represent the best possible deal. You may wish to consider the amenities that are offered as well. For instance, if you are staying for a few days and have children, a hotel pool may work wonders in helping them have a good time and stay busy. And this is something you will not have to pay for. When all else fails, you may want to just straight out ask for a discount. Some hotel managers are authorized to give discounts when asked. And you never know when it may be your lucky day.
