Having a fancy dress party is without a doubt a guaranteed way to have fun. Having said that, simply stating that a party should be fancy dress can sometimes result in chaos, as you may suddenly end up with a large group of people who are all dressed a little randomly, but bear no relation to each other.

Having a theme within the fancy dress party is a good idea to add a bit if structure to this wacky matter. It also helps steer people in the right direction and give them a starting point for their own fancy dress outfits.

A lot of common themes are based on periods of time. This is hugely popular, especially if you choose a really flamboyant era such as the seventies or eighties where clothes were embarrassingly spectacular.
