If Only I Could Get Away From Utah's Crazy Weather And Book A Hotel In San Diego

One of my best friends had an opportunity a few years back to spend some time in San Diego and ever since then she has wanted to go back

. It's by far the most beautiful place she's ever been, and there were so many cool things to see and do there.

Now we are both married and she is pregnant, so it seems a lot less likely that the opportunity for us to get away for a girls only vacation will come anytime in the really near future. Nonetheless I wouldn't mind booking a hotel in San Diego and getting a chance to go out and have some fun for even just one weekend.

Everyone who has ever spent time in San Diego can't stop talking about how it is always the perfect temperature no matter what time of the year you go. Now, that is the kind of place where I could handle spending some time. If only I had that kind of luxury here in my current residence. I am just too wimpy to live in this kind of harsh climate.

I moved to Utah almost five years ago, and I still can't handle its drastic extremes when it comes to the weather. It seems that most years we spend about five months being ridiculously too cold and covered in snow and we spend about another five months surviving the scorching heat. Then if we're lucky we have one month of transition time in the spring and then again in the fall when it's actually comfortable outside.

I'm not exaggerating at all. From my experience, the only time that you really want to go outside during a Salt Lake summer is if you're on your way to jump in a nice refreshing pool. The winter months are similarly daunting. It's worth going outside if you want to go sledding on occasions, but make sure that you have some nice hot chocolate or spiced cider ready for you immediately when you come back inside.

The more I think about our crazy weather here, the more I want to convince my friend to book a hotel in San Diego right now. After all, we've judge passed that comfortable fall transition, and it would be nice to escape the imminent snow for a weekend. Besides, it might be best to try to fit in this adventure before my friend's baby comes.
