If Something Delays My Delivery, Will I Be Contacted?

It might seem like there is nothing more frustrating to a company than the thought

of their delivery being delayed when they're using a third part distribution logistics firm to make their deliveries for them. The one thing that is more frustrating than that, though, is when there is a delay in the shipment and the client company is not notified. This can cause a whole host of problems which might have been avoided if the courier company had just let them know that something had happened to cause a delay in the shipment. That is why the best delivery firms are extremely proactive about keeping their customers in the loop of the status of their shipment, and are sure to let them know one way or another if there has been a delay of any kind.

There are both indirect and direct ways that courier companies are going to let you know about delays to your shipment. Direct ways are usually going to be reserved for really massive delays. They will still inform you about smaller delays, but will usually do so in an indirect way. It is going to be your responsibility to check on your package and retrieve the information that they provide you with.

This is the information that they will provide to you via their status update system for packages. Most courier companies have a way that you can check on the status of your shipment. This is usually an online system where you enter your reference number in order to get information like the GPS co-ordinates of our package. It will also include any updates the company has entered into the system, such as when your package runs into a small delay.

Although this is the policy for small delays, you shouldn't worry about being left in the dark if something more significant happens to your package. There are usually four situations when a courier company will contact you directly about the status of your package. This is when the package has become damaged somehow, when it has become lost, when you need to do something to complete the delivery, or when a massive delay has been encountered. Your courier knows that those are all situations which are going to require your direct attention, so they will be sure to call you right away and let you know if anything along those lines takes place.
