They keep some very personal and important information stored on their hard drives and this is one thing, but sometimes they make the very big mistake of allowing to be on the Internet itself.

If someone steals your computer or laptop, they have access to anything personal you might have stored on it like pictures, financial information, they can access your past emails and other accounts sometimes if they can find your stored passwords. It could lead to some real financial disaster and it can even damage your personal life if the circumstances are right. Some people have gotten savvy and will use an external hard drive to store much of their private or important information on. This is small enough to be kept locked in a safe if need be.

What has gotten many people into trouble already or could damage their personal life or reputation somewhere down the road is when they post things on dating sites, adult meeting sites or even just exchange between those they are in relationships with are photographs. Having intimate pictures of yourself on your home computer is one things well, but when you put them on the Internet, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will stay where you sent them. In fact the chances that they will are pretty slim. You could find out that the sexy picture you sent to your love interest's e mail might end up on some pornographic website. It has happened more times than anyone knows.

It is vital that you are very careful with what information you put out there. When you are giving out information like your credit card numbers, bank account numbers or even your email and home address, you should know that the site is secure and even that might not prevent it from being hacked into ny someone somewhere.
