The building has a facade composed of Doric columns inspired by the Parthenon in Athens, a symbol of democracy, surmounted by a roof that is inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, representing the economic power. In front of the building, stands a huge statue of the first U.S. president, George Washington. The New York City Hall has been the theatre for some of the most important historical events of the United States of America: it was here, for example, in 1865, which gathered representatives of thirteen colonies to protest against the Stamp Act passed by the British government, it was also here that, after the attainment of independence in 1789, they settled the first Capitol, which is the seat of government of the United States, and the name of the city hall building was changed to Federal Hall.

Try Madison Square Garden, it is a huge complex that in addition to the stadium is the home of the basketball team the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers hockey.
