The News Media in Britain is leaving no stone unturned to belittle the immigrants

, refugees and other foreign inhabitants in the country.

The status of outsiders in the country

Not only the commoners belonging to this section are humiliated but also people working at reputable posts are also not barred. Whenever, these officials are caught of any slip up the issue is blown out of proportion.

Exaggerating stories are published against these soft targets by making them an open as well as torn page of book.

Asylum seekers on one hand have tough time to face, on the other hand their families are not allowed to rest in peace. They always are under the threat of a group of people coming and breaking their window glasses and children being beaten up brutally for making no mistakes at their end.

Story of atrocity does not stop here, the so called blacks keep on waiting to receive a phone call for their interview but every time they are disheartened. They are considered to be a part of some grand or the other and are denied even the jobs which can meet their basic survival needs.

Muslim women are the worst hit of the lot, because they are called by the names of supporters of Bin Laden. These women never in their lifetime had heard the name of Bin Laden, except for the first time when they were abused by their neighbours.

The fate of outsiders

The Immigrants and refugees, who tolerate the torture day in and day out, have no option but to go on with all this quietly.

Unfortunately there are no Groups or associations who can help them in their times of troubles.

They are not equipped enough to hire a lawyer or take any other legal step to protect their rights.

Journalists get discriminant

The story of discrimination does not stop at the common people, but, it gets carried forward. In many of the Press Conferences, it has been observed that the Non-White journalists in spite of holding experience for number of years do not get an opportunity to talk. They are straight way barred from expressing their thoughts. In fact, there are many Journalists present on the same occasion who are not even allowed to share their names.

Journalism is supposed to report an event or a happening without any fear or favour. Looking at the mentioned situations, the meaning and significance of Journalism will get altered for no good reason. After all, a society gets changed due to newspaper and news only.

Summary:

Britain or any such country which brings racial discrimination to the extent of Journalism needs to introspect about its own developmental aspects. There are instances when Journalism has been the key factor in changing a society. Even in Britain too, the Journalists need to be more fair and not judgemental in evaluating things. In human treatment to any caste, creed or race is never a sign of development of a society.
