Implementing Basic Site Safety Rules

Did you notice that every establishments has Site Safety Rules

? What was your understanding when you saw a sign saying "Safety Goggles Are To Be Worn At All Times"? Is this pertaining only for workers or anyone on the site? Or also for others?

Site Safety Measures exist for the safety of each individual, as well as for the safety of all the employees. Although a billing clerk isn't likely to be in the welding area, and therefore won't need to wear safety goggles, he or she should still have an understanding of the safety rules. Regardless of an employee's position, all of the employees should know and follow the safety rules. In addition, everyone has a responsibility of keeping the rules enforced. If a new delivery man is making a delivery, enters the wrong door, and isn't aware that he's about to step into a "Steel Toe Boots Required" zone with his sneakers on, the nearest employee needs to politely stop him from entering in and explain the rule to him.

Analyze the basic Site Safety Rules that are listed below which implemented in a building site.

1. All Employees Must Wash Hands. Isn't this just a sign that you see in restaurants? No. Right for example an individual assigned to a convenient store as a cashier. During the break she has a cigarette, wipes her sniffling nose with the back of her hand, and uses the restroom. She NEEDS to wash her hands before returning to the check-out area. If she doesn't wash her hands, then her germs will be passed on as she handles merchandise and money.

2. Safety Goggles Must Be Worn. This sign is typically posted near tools, such as welding or soldering.

3. Slippery When Wet. Anytime a floor is being mopped or waxed a bright yellow stand up sign is put at the start and end of the job. The sign implies "Stay Off!" Yet, many employees assume that safety regulations don't apply to them. They'll walk along the edge of the flooring, rather than find a different route. Another type of safety sign you will see along the road are signs warning of potential road conditions. One such sign is "Slippery When Wet. It lets you know that you should be cautious of your speed while driving along this area and the road is wet from rain but often ignored which causes accidents.

4. Wear Mask When Using Chemicals. Chemicals is dangerous to health. So wearing a mask is a must! If you handle this kind of job, you must take that into consideration. You know how chemicals can burn your nostrils or overwhelm you, so you gladly wear a mask. Yet, another employee who approaches your work area to give someone a phone message might not think it's a big deal to not bother with a mask. You have to realize that as part of the company and being one of the employees, you are responsible to warn her and tell her to pause and wear a safety mask.

In addition to these basic procedures, each building site will have specific rules. Even though some of the rules may seen elementary or obvious, these process are in place to help maintain a safe environment for you, the other employees, and visitors.
