Implementing Green Policy: A Great Step Towards Saving Resources And Bringing Efficiency To Offices

After harming environment continuously for years and years

, today people across the world seem to have become active to save the planet. Today, we have a number of winnipeg instances which prove that we are making efforts. However the pace is slow, yet it is steady. One of such instances is a green office policy which is being adopted by various organizations these days. A green policy or green office policy is basically a set of guidelines which a company sets forth to be implemented in its offices. These guidelines are basically targeted at minimizing the use of natural resources to a possible extent. By doing this, a company not only saves on resources and makes offices energy efficient, but it helps in protecting our environment also.

Implementing a green office policy is undoubtedly an initiative aimed at serving a global cause. However, it is being used to get a competitive edge also. An organization with green policy is able to set itself aside from the crowd and establish a positive impact among customers.

There are certain things which can be adopted by almost any office to make a green policy more effective. They are:

1. If a monthly goal is set to reduce the utility bill by at least 2 to 3%, it can be a great step towards saving energy and making the offices more energy efficient.

2. Once a green policy is implemented make sure that it is followed by your employees. Encourage them to participate actively as it is not targeted at achieving any personal goal rather it is meant for everyone. If possible try extending it to your clients and customers, they will be glad to welcome your initiative.

3. Make a target to reduce the use of papers in the office. Encourage the use of emails in lieu of normal mails and faxes.

4. Install hand blower dryer in washrooms to discourage the use of tissue papers.

5. Using mugs, cups of glasses can minimize the use of disposable glasses and bottles in offices.

The above-mentioned guidelines meant for green office policy can easily be implemented to any office and it does not require much effort anyways. However, it may seem to be smaller measures against so much of pollution we cause to our environment, yet many such small efforts put together can make a truly big difference.
