The internet is a big place with an estimated 1.6 billion people with access to the

internet and hundreds of millions of people that use it on a daily basis. This makes the internet the biggest potential to market to and it is a perfect way to make money online. Most people don't realize that an opportunity like this actually exists and there is a massive vacuum to be filled by ordinary people from home. I thought I could give you the first stepping stones of making money online, which can be troubling for new people.

They key to making money with any business is selling to a market that has buyers. I know that seems obvious, but you would be surprised how many people that start a site about something that attracts visitors that are hard to sell too. A site about your pet cat isn't necessarily going to attract the hot buyers that are dying to spend money. But when you're starting out you will probably fail if you go into niche that are competitive. Niches like weight loss, investing, etc are full of spenders, but it is hard for a new person to get anywhere with the competition.

Making money online, at least starting out, is about finding a niche that has the buyers without that much competition. This might be a little more difficult to figure out, so I suggest you check out Amazon's best seller lists. After a few hours of searching you should have a few potential products that are being sold in large numbers, but aren't really that competitive.

The next step at this point would be looking into potential keywords that you can go after. A keyword is something that people would put into a search engine to find your place. Selecting the right keyword(s) is the first step to building a site. When you find keywords that are getting traffic, but aren't too busy you have to start going after them. This involves creating a website and writing content for them.
