I arrived at the Ana Mandara Resort on a sunny afternoon to be greeted by gentle breezes of the summer months. This beautiful resort is fronted by the long stretch of Thuan An beach. My first impression was about how verdant the grounds appeared. There were trees and plants carefully pruned and watered with a green carpet of grass that I could roll around on and forget every worry.

I explored the grounds looking at the various villas set in neat rows fronting the beach or garden. The rooms harmoniously blended western and eastern architectural styles and dcor with a touch of the antique with tiny flowers thoughtfully placed on the bedding and towels. Besides, there were other quaint little things such as a pen made from pinewood, a lighter set in a bamboo case and a rattan shoe box. The bath room is a totally different space in a modern style with wide mirrors and glass walls, the bath area roofless, opened to the sky. There was organic soap, shampoo and wooden combs with more fluffy towels than I could use.

I spent wonderful relaxing moments in my room enjoying the natural setting. Here at Anna Mandara, the management understands the needs of its guests and care is taken to create a personal touch. It isn't grand but luxurious in a simple way with a sense of romance and space, great for people in love and family getaways.

The garden is a special feature of Anna Mandara, with small tables set in the midst of lush green and a hammock strung between coconut palms. Tucked away in a corner is an organic vegetable garden for the picking to grace your table with the freshest greens. And then there is the Spa pervaded with the fragrance of lemon grass.

That evening, I opened the sliding doors to let in the blue of sea and sound of waves breaking on the shore. I tasted the salty flavor of the sea breezes and when night fell, I drifted dreamily into contemplation of the stars.

Ana Mandara is truly my dream resort.
