Improve Your Brands Perception Among Your Target Audience

First impressions are important, even more than you think

. We are taught dont judge a book by its cover but we all do. During those first few seconds that we meet someone or interact with a company for the first time we instinctively decide whether or not we like him / her / the company. First impressions are difficult to change, especially when it comes to your company and consumers perception about your company.

The Internet is most likely the first place that consumers will have contact with your company. Maybe they typed in a search query on Google, selected an option from the search results and landed on your website or maybe they found your websites URL through a business directory. What do they see? Is your website easy to use or is it difficult to find the information they are looking for? Can they see at a glance what it is that your company do? Is there adequate information that describes the services / products you offer? What about your contact details, can they find your physical address and phone number easily?

Secondly, when potential (or current) clients phone your company, who answers the phone? How is it answered? How is a message taken? Believe it or not but the way you treat clients over the phone have a big influence on their perception of your company. The other most likely first point of contact is at a networking or industry event. How do you present yourself? Are you neatly groomed? The way you dress and behave can greatly influence peoples perception about your company not only you as a person.

If you have employees that have to visit clients house or office to do work on-site (i.e. a plumber or electrician), how are your employees dressed? How do they behave themselves?
