Improve Your Lead Capture Page
When you have the volume of traffic heading to your website
, it's time to make sure that the landing page is getting enough conversions. If this is not happening you may need to check a few things out.
Does your lead capture page get you interested. Be objective. If it doesn't interest you then you have a problem.
Study the headline - does it really stand out. Is the visitor given a real reason to look further? Most of your visitors will do no more than glance at the headline so it had better be eye-catching.
Do you use video - Are you using a company video to speak to your customers or are you making your own. Personal video's always tend to work better as the visitor can see you and relate to you in a more personal way than the usual corporate stuff.
If you are to be successful in your business you must have a real passion for what you are doing. When you make your own video you must show this to your potential customers. You are going to be more believable that any generic video that your company may put out.
Is there an added incentive - Look again at what you are offering the visitor. If it is just information about your business you could entice them further with a free report or training material. If you are already offering this, can the free material be improved in some way? Is it relevant to what you are trying to promote.
How they will benefit - Is it clear from the video or the written text how the visitor would benefit from looking further at the product or business. Make sure that you are talking of benefits and not just the features that it has. There is a vast difference to the visitor.
Tell them what to do next - Sometimes people are a little slow when trying to decide what to do next, so tell them! Be specific, if they need to complete a form then tell them to do it. Remind them why they need to do it and then make them complete it. Don't ask - TELL
Opt-in Box - There are so many different templates you can use when making an opt-in box that you can make them as interesting as you want. All I would say is that you try to keep it simple. You should not ask for information if you do not really need, or you probably won't use it, for example telephone numbers. If this is vital to your marketing model, then fair enough, but if it's not needed then don't ask. People like to give as little away as possible in the beginning, you can always get further information at a later date.
Split testing - This is something you should constantly be doing. It is not difficult to do but it can make a huge difference at the end of the month. Just change one part of your page and then test the two versions and see which one is the more successful, then use that one. Once you have established that move onto another aspect of your site. Software for this is freely available on the internet and a simple search should show you where to go and how to use it.
