Improving swimming speed is not hard if you are dedicated to your training. Here are some tips to get you swimming faster.
1) Practice. They always say that constant practice makes things perfect. That is true in swimming. If you practice a lot, you'll be able to increase you speed in the long run. 2) Breathe right. There are some swimmers that know how to swim but do not know how to breathe the right way underwater. Make sure that you know when and how to breathe when swimming. This will be one of the things that will slow you down if you don't know how to do properly.
3) Set your goal. Swim as fast as you can to get your maximum swimming speed. Once you have this, you will know what your limit is and you can set up your goal from there. For each lap that you swim, time yourself. Your record will be the proof of your progress. 4) Work on your strokes. Practice on the strokes that you're weak at. But don't forget your strengths as well. You may be faster in one stroke but slow on the other.
Lastly, know what drags you in the water. A drag is something that slows you down. Make sure to paddle underwater and not close to the water's surface to increase your speed. Have your fingers close together when grabbing the water. If they are spread apart, you won't be able to get that far. Observe yourself and find out what slows you down so that you can correct it.
