In Need Of A Holiday?

Every year we struggle to choose a holiday destination for our annual holiday

, as there are so many budget airlines providing cheaper flights to numerous European destinations. Spain is typically top of our list, especially during the summer months but what about winter sunshine? Generally the Canary Islands come out top especially islands such as Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and the up and coming island of Fuerteventura.

Located just off the east coast of Africa the Canaries boast all year round sunshine, beautiful beaches and a multitude of things to do for the holidaymaker. If you are looking for a fun filled week or two of late nights and partying then Gran Canaria and Tenerife are your safest bet. For a quieter more relaxed holiday then why not take a trip to either Lanzarote or Fuerteventura?

Fuerteventura is the longest and second largest of the islands as its name derives from 'strong wind'. Although some days may seem very windy do not be fooled as the sun rays can still give you a fabulous tan! There are two main British resorts on the island. Corralejo is the largest of the two and is situated in the North. Caleta de Fuste is the other and is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the main airport, on the east coast.

Caleta de Fuste, or El Castillo or even Costa Caleta as its sometimes known still offers the holidaymaker plenty to do. Numerous bars and restaurants line the streets and commercial centres and being developed with children in mind the resort also provides a number of activities to keep the younger ones amused.

The beach is man-made and offers a safe haven for adults to relax on the beach whilst kids play in the shallow waters. Adjacent to the beach is the harbour where you can find a number of water sports to participate in along with the famous 'Floating Shop' where kiddies can feed the fish and buy a souvenir or two to take home.

There is also a variety of excursions that can be booked which include a trip to the new 'Baku' Water Park, a day out to the La Lajita Zoo and Cactus Gardens or even an afternoon go-karting in nearby Puerto Del Rosario.

Being just a 15 minute drive from the airport and within an hours drive of all the Islands attractions Caleta de Fuste makes a great holiday base for both families and couples alike.
