In The Land Of Diplomats

Geneva, the second largest city of Switzerland has attained the status of an international

city not only in the business and finance sector but also in the world of diplomacy. With many international organizations having head quarters here, the city will be crowded with people from all over the world. The presence of organizations like UN attracts many diplomats here. Hence the route will be busy always. Though many major airlines such as British Airways and Air Canada are operating flights to Geneva, it is difficult to get a ticket if you have not booked in advance. Though there are many cheap flights to Geneva that offer inexpensive flight tickets, all those tickets will be booked in advance by tourists. Hence it is necessary to plan well in advance if your destination is Geneva.

My trip was well planned as I got the intimation about my trip from my company well in advance. I got enough time to purchase cheap plane ticket and I started my journey as per my schedule.

I have busy with my official works and I could not go anywhere in the first few days. After completing the initial jobs I took a leave for two days. The city has a rich heritage and thus it houses many sites or structures of historical importance. The city has over 80 such sites which have been listed as the sites of historical importance. The entire old city is a heritage site and the buildings there depict the rich architecture of the past.

Two days are not enough to visit all those sites. Still I tried to cover as much as within that short period. City houses several museums and art galleries. These museums are not only displaying the culture and heritage of Geneva or Switzerland as a whole, but it displays the history and culture of the entire world. There I went to a museum which exhibits the richness of Oriental Culture. The galleries which I visited during weekends were crowded with visitors. Paintings and murals of the classic era has been displayed along with some good contemporary works. I came to know that many foreigners used to visit these galleries regularly and used to participate in auction being conducted by several art dealers. The introduction of cheap tickets to Geneva has come as a blessing for these people who are engaged in the international trade of paintings and murals.

There are several world class theaters also in this city. The weather of Switzerland and the diplomatic approach of the people over there will certainly make you to stay back there. Still I had to return. Now I am thinking about a second visit to the city. This time I will take my family also along with me. They should also enjoy the best things in the world and I consider the life in Geneva as one among them.
