The post recession world is still on the road to recovery as many airlines are not installing First Class seats any more. The biggest reason is the demand fall and also, major companies no longer invest in first class and prefer to limit themselves at regular Business Class or Club. However there are many other reason than just that.

First, all major airlines are competing neck to neck to meet use gratifications. The modern day user looks for flights in an orderly, having price as first and comfort as second priority. Luxury stands at fourth or at times nowhere. Such as assuming 10 people are flying to Africa, on average the following will be the order of search pattern:

Researchers have indicated that a vast majority is attracted to SALE, Student airfares, bargains, last minute tickets, early bird offers and some are even paying more happily believing to be buying ticket from an end of year SALE. This is more of a Psychological thing that many low budget agencies play with. However, those in a need for Direct flights as more conscious about saving their flight time secondly, their money.

Plus, an average customer seeking business class also does not reframe from comparing airfares among different airlines and opting for the cheapest one. Taking the above example, let's say Air Zimbabwe is offering flights to Harare in 600 GBP, Ethiopian in 650 GBP and British Airways in 980 GBP business class fare, the first and the last being direct flights to Harare, taking nearly same flight duration, and having a difference of around 400 GBP is most likely to be convincing enough to fly with a less popular airline's Business class flights and save more for a second trip. Yet, the customer loyalty is the only binding force that keeps one airline customers safe from getting attracted by the other competitor or lured by cheap air fares.
