Increase you personal inner power to help you find jobs in Kenya
A discouraged soul, one without confidence and one easily discouraged by challenges
is more likely to look for a job in Kenya for years than one with an empowered inner state.
Yet inner power and self confidence are not discussed much when it comes to giving counsel for successful jobs search strategy. As a result of the prevailing beliefs that there are no jobs in Kenya, most people approach jobs search as rocket science that needs external intervention and subsequently the need for an external service provider.
That is a myth. Successful jobs search in a high competition environment as Kenya is will be more successful when you are your own primary job hunting solution than any service provider will ever be.
Relatives and friends who do not wish to be bogged down with the agonising task of helping you to find a job in Kenya and job service providers will sell the external worker option strongly to you. Do not believe them in total. Finding a job is more your personal responsibility than the responsibility of an external 'worker'.
Basically, any business person out there will not give your search for jobs in Kenya the undivided attention that you can.
The value of personal search in speedy access to a job in Kenya
If for instance you desire to find a job in Kenya within six months of leaving college or campus, then you are on a tight schedule. What you are saying is, in six months, you should have, identified companies that can employ you, developed a selling CV that attracts employers who already have too much CV choice anyway, have attend an interview or interviews and been called for a job.
You can immediately see there is much to do that will not be a priority to anyone but yourself. Some of those factors are almost completely out of your control. That is why an external service, and most users will attest to this will likely take a year or more unless you have a specialised degree and a great deal of good on-the-job experience.
But when you are your primary jobs search 'worker', you can pace your activities, merge some, multiply others for maximum results and complete some within hours rather than days. You can make important adjustments to achieve your six months target.
Two areas of personal confidence that will speed your find
For your personal jobs search plan however you need to have personal confidence which will make it much easier to sell yourself to potential employers.
Let us look at two specific areas of personal confidence.
First; believe in your ability to do what you say you can do. How do you develop that belief? By defining clearly what exactly you know
you can accomplish with your skills. Answer the question, 'what can I do?' effectively to yourself.
When you have a credible answer to that question, you can multiply it to as many employers as you choose to make contact with and they will listen.
To say 'I did a Computer Course' will not get you a job, but to say, I can create, develop and manage a database in Microsoft Access (or whatever data processing tool you have studied) gets you definite attention. Be definite about what you can do.
Second; believe that you are worth giving a job to. I hear people put themselves down with an amazing mis-perception described as 'I do not have the experience.'
It is a false premise that you are using to deplete your opportunities.
Are there fresh graduates in your class who have gotten a job? Probably, yes! So what makes you convince yourself you cannot get a job 'without experience'? There are employers who will much sooner employ a person without experience than one with experience.
The challenge is to identify what unique personal characteristics endear you more to an employer. Once you know those, you will get a job, with or without experience.
How can you tell what personal characteristics employers appreciate? One free resource I can refer you to is my articles. Areas such as focus, clarity of mind, attention to details, self-confidence, and other personal qualities are worth much in pay. Define the one's you have and you will have powered your
personal job search plan in ways that will get you a job in Kenya in a very short time indeed.
