, it has always amazed the world with its intellectual minds one such field is information technology. Although the computer was invented centuries back and came in hands Indians a bit late but they became popular like a toy at a very fast pace.

As the time passed this machine became popular and so the field of Software Development in India and more and more Indians started enrolling in this sector, looking at the popularity and the growth prospects of IT sector in nations growth government of India acquired the EVS EM computers which were used by big multi-national companies and research centers and laboratories from Soviet Union.

This helped in getting Indians employment all over the world in 1960s more than ten thousand professionals were settled in USA and other countries got recruit in places like California Silicon Valley.

As we move towards the liberalization, this was the time when software companies of India were ready to create their mark on worlds map. In 1991 corporation called Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) was established by government body i.e. Department of Electronics. STPI soon created IT parks in various cities by which firms can use satellite links, in 1993 permission was granted to individual firms to use their own links, which helped them to transmit their work done to other countries. Soon Indian firms made their goodwill in American client, which give way for opening of various new software companies in India. Bengaluru is considered as the Silicon Valley of India or the park of Information technology

Software Development in India not only helped Indians to get reputed jobs and handsome salary but it also gave acceleration to the Indian economy at present IT sector contribute 7.5% towards GDP. Now with the excessive use of IT and to safeguard the interest Information Technology Act 200 created legal procedures for e-commerce and all electronic transactions.

Today India- Park of Information Technology, stands amongst the top software development nation with various well known IT companies such as Patni, Lnt, Infotach, TCS, WNS, WIPRO etc, providing employment to millions of software development professionals. With education institutions like IIT India produce millions of IT graduates which are now placed in worlds top firms, which make India worlds one of the best education destination. India at present is considered as the young nation with more than 65% of population comprising youth and it is said that out of 10 graduates 5 are from IT fields, which showcase the popularity and the bright prospects of this software development field as a profession and also as a career.
