India develops affordable nano sensors to detect heart attack

A team of Indian scientists and engineers have developed sensors using nano materials at affordable prices to detect a heart attack quickly. The device with nano sensors that can detect a heart attack, but also to send its signal through a wireless interface to remotely located physicians for rapid diagnosis and treatment.

The sensors use three-dimensional nano electrical mechanical systems (NEMS) of its polymeric material to convert any abnormal movement of the heart muscle into an electrical signal for the detection of cardiac symptoms. The team has built a tiny shelf in the sensor or nano-particles of the polymer to measure the symptoms of stress (myocardial infarction), heart and transform it into an electrical signal. Nano-particles, measured as one-billionth of a meter (39 inches), in a polymer to generate electrical current through the biochemical process of enzymes produced in the heart.

The study also revealed that half of all heart attacks around the country in which people under the age of 50 and 25 percent under the age due to unhealthy diet, smoking 40, chewing tobacco, physical inactivity and changing lifestyle of the population in urban growth.
