But according to industry experts, this is just the beginning for a country like India that is inundated with tourist attractions. The country has a more than a 9% annual growth rate in the tourism sector and the amount of 100 US$ billion generated in 2008 is expected to increase to US$275.5 billion by 2018.

As stated earlier, Indian tourism scene does indeed looks rosy and the concerned authorities are making sure that it stays the same way. Indian Ministry of Tourism is responsible for promoting tourism in the country. The ministry is making determined efforts to encourage various new forms of tourism such as cruise, medical and eco-tourism. The agency works with all other state and central agencies to ensure that tourism in India reaches the very heights it promises. New airports are being developed, old ones are renovated, new airlines are being launched, and airways and roadways are being urbanised to match world class standards.
