Indoor Waterfall Water Pump Care And Maintenance

Caring for your indoor waterfall is relatively quick and simple

. Regular cleaning requires wiping it completely with a soft cloth to keep the unit in excellent condition.

While this may be true to the unit itself, the water pump takes maintenance that is more thorough especially monitoring its water supply. Check your pump for evaporation and dampness because these two elements will damage the pump. A good amount of water is loss during evaporation and humidity. Both of these factors can deplete your pump with its water supply and as a result can damage your fountain. Make sure you check the water level everyday to prevent this problem.

Pumps will work properly provided standard maintenance is consistent and water supply is at the right level. Try taking the pump apart and cleaning it if you encounter a problem. The problem could be as simple as clearing the debris that settled in the water and clogged up the pump. Covering your water pump with a soft fabric similar to pantyhose is a great idea in helping prevent particles from collecting inside the pump.

As a caution, never repair the pump when turned on, doing so exposes you to electrical shock.

Completely drain the water and thoroughly clean the water pump every four to six months. Manufacturers highly recommend using distilled water instead of tap water. Minerals in tap water can easily congest your fountain and will affect the pumps ability to function efficiently. Water treatment chemicals in-between regular cleanings will also ensure that the water stays clean. There are products out there made especially for water treatment method.

Fountec is an EPA registered creation that is highly helpful in the spread of algae without doing damage to the environment and animals. It is also temperature, sunlight, and evaporation repellent. Use a small dose of Fountec because it is very concentrated. One application can last for several weeks.
