Industrial Mold Removal Now A Popular Industrial Hygiene Service
Industrial hygiene teams can assist you with your industrial mold removal needs from
conducting an Initial Worksite Analysis and Program Review to performing Exposure Monitoring to Design and Implementation of Engineering Controls to minimize or eliminate the hazards.
Industrial Hygiene is defined as "that science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of those environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace, which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers or among citizens of the community".
Fungi, or mold, can grow within 24-48 hours following a water intrusion event if the building materials are not promptly removed or adequately dried. Fungi only need moisture, air and a food source to thrive. Fungal contamination is a multi-faceted problem and without proper mold removal techniques can affect individuals differently, from allergy-like symptoms to the development of infections.
Fungal Investigations
The SRP Environmental IAQ Division has extensive experience in conducting Fungal Investigations. The SRP staff has 6 Texas-licensed Mold Assessment Consultants. Our team utilizes state-of-the art technology such as FLIR Infrared cameras, Video-recording borescopes, Moisture meters and Fungal sampling equipment conducting the investigations. We can also develop Mold Removal and Remediation Specifications/Work Plans for the licensed mold abatement contractor to follow. SRP Environmental only utilizes American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)-accredited analytical laboratories.
Bacterial Investigations
Bacterial contamination can occur due to Black or Gray water contamination. Bacterial contamination can also be the result of flooding or a roof leak. Our IAQ Team can conduct a Bacterial Contamination Investigation with a multi-tiered approach performing a visual inspection along with surface and/or airborne bacterial sample collection. SRP can develop remediation specifications to meet the requirements of IICRC S520 and S500.
The Worksite Analysis is an essential first step that helps an Industrial Hygienist determine what jobs and work stations are the sources of potential problems. During this analysis, the IH measures and identified exposures, problem tasks and risks including all jobs, operations and work activities. Once the problem(s) are discovered, our experts will recommend the appropriate corrective action, such as Engineering Controls, Work Practice Controls or Administrative Controls.
