As you set the cups up on each end of the table, just imagine a good old game of pool. This is how you want to have your cups set up on each end of the table in the shape of a triangle. Beer pong usually has six, ten or twelve cups with additional cups used to rinse off the ping pong balls.

If you are going to be playing with beer, the best beer to buy is something with the lowest alcohol level because you will be consuming allot of beer throughout this game. For the non-drinkers its is really all up to you what you want to be drinking. Most people use cups of root beer however.

Who is playing this kind of game you might ask yourself. Well its is very popular with college kids who want something to do at their dorms for fun. However don't feel left out, you can have fun with this game at any age as long as you have a group of people that is willing to have some fun and get lose.

Another thing that people look out for is the cleaning cups that are being used. Remember that you are playing a game where ping pong balls that are being thrown, bounced and chucked at the beer cups wind up being not so clean anymore. The best thing to do is just rinse off the balls without using a water cup which could avoid different bacteria.

How the team things works is usually played with two teams of two players each, or even other numbers of players are used. Each team begins the game at their end of the table facing the triangle of cups that are waiting for them on the other side. A little hint about how to win the game at the start is to start off by throwing the ping pong ball behind your back. If it makes it in the cup then your team wins that hand.

Some other house rules consist of something called swatting, which means that if the ball is hit and circles the cup it can be swatted away. Also in this game, if the two players from your team actually make both first shots then they can take an additional shot which is called a "rebound". If you make another shot following the first two shots, that is known as the splash trick which is kind of like a turkey in bowling.

Beer pong in some places is almost banned or trying to get there because allot of people believe that it encourages binge drinking. This all leads back to being responsible and knowing your limit. Even though it is tough to tell people how much to drink or whether or not to drink at all because this is mainly a house game, it is all up to the parents of these kids that are playing these games to monitor them.
