Another important consideration is the price and the monthly payments. How much can you realistically afford? What kind of down payment can you raise? Some advise that a reasonable monthly payment should be no more than about 20 percent of the salary that you take home.

Once you have considered and decided upon all the factors, features, and other incidental items you require in a car that you will purchase then it is time to do some research. Study the different classes of cars and what they offer to their drivers. Then decide which class is right for you and then look at the models that are available in your price range.

Ask questions about the car to gain information about the car that you may not have been able to discern through the listing on the web page.

After you have finished your research it is time to actually go out and take a look at a car. When you are looking at a car that interests you be sure to look it over carefully. Check for flaws such as dents, bumps, and signs of rust. Make sure that all the locks work and that the fuel cap fits correctly. Look underneath the car to see if there are any oil leaks or water leaks. Take a look at its maintenance history as well as it will tell you a great deal about the car.
