Insane Clown Posse Tattoos Are Cool, But Dark Lotus Tattoos Are Unique
Its been noted time and time again that hatchetman ink is ubiquitous amongst Psychopathic
Records fans, Insane Clown Posse fans, and even fans of horror rap in general. Keeping that in mind, just how unique can each rendition of hatchetman ink be at this point? I mean with everyone and their mom falling deep enough in love with Psychopathic Records to show their devotion vie hatchetman permanence, there can only be so many ideas for the hatchetman tattoo left.
Incorporating Faygo has long been accomplished, and turning the hatchetman into a Juggalette has been done too. And nearly every line of ICP lyric to ever have been written has in some way, shape, or form been associated with the hatchetman tattoo over the course of ICPs 20 year career. So how else can horror rap heads rep Psychopathic Records with a souvenir for life? The answer is no longer hatchetman tattoos, it is tattoos of other bands on Psychopathic Records like Dark Lotus.
Dark Lotus tattoos arent nearly as pervasive as hatchetman tattoos, and thats the point. Because Dark Lotus is a supergroup that only convenes ever so often and records an album even less often than that, youd have to be pretty compelled by one of Dark Lotus few albums in order to get a tattoo memorializing the occasion.
The number of people this experience applies to is few, but thats what makes them all the more unique. Lets talk about some of the best Dark Lotus tattoos out there, including those that feature the hatchetman.
To start, most of the Psychopathic Records fans who choose to ink up with Dark Lotus Tattoos instead of hatchetman tattoos are a different type of person. They dont get off on Psychopathic Records more wishy-washy lyricism about girls and broken hearts. Instead, Dark Lotus tattoo enthusiasts are darker, probably aligning themselves with the supernatural and intense themes heard in their songs rather than the comedy and sexual themes in other Psychopathic Records artists songs.
The groups logo is that of an elongated cross with lotus petals on the top and bottom ends and tridents on the left and right ends. Whether this Psychopathic Records act associates with Christianity or not isnt really the issue at hand here. The cross is more meant to symbolize the seriousness and weight that the guys place on this group. After all, this is a Psychopathic Records act that named their first album The Opaque Brotherhood.
Keeping the Dark Lotus logo in mind, it should come as no surprise that the most common way Psychopathic Records fans have incorporated it into a tattoo is to place a hatchetman in the middle. Others have embellished on the crosses points, but those who truly think outside the box have ignored the cross all together, instead getting Dark Lotus tattoos that are literally a picture of a dark lotus, the flower. Talk about subtlety in a tattoo!
