Inserting Focus Dailies Toric The Correct Way

. Not only do contact lenses enhance self-confidence and self-esteem, but they also contribute to the good looks of the person wearing them. These lenses can be of immense benefit if they are worn correctly. However, if they are not worn the right way, it can cause a lot of irritation and discomfort and at times, may result in damage to the eyes and the contact lenses. Whether you opt for daily disposables such as Focus Dailies Toric and Dailies AquaComfort Plus, or if you prefer extended wear lenses, here are a few simple tips that will help you to insert the lens into the eyes the correct way.

The first thing that you need to do before you touch the Focus Dailies Toric, or any other lenses for that matter, is to wash your hands well with non-oily soaps. Then, dry them thoroughly to remove any moisture. This process is a must to remove the fine dust particles that may have settled on your hands. Neglecting to wash your hands will promote the transfer of fine dust from the fingers on to the lens, which in turn may cause irritation once you insert the lens into the eye. If you are using daily disposables such as the Dailies AquaComfort Plus, you need not rinse them in a cleansing solution. But, if you are using extended wear lenses, rinse them in a lens cleaning liquid.

Hold the Dailies AquaComfort Plus lens carefully with the tip of your index finger. Hold it at eye level to find out if it is held inside out. When held correctly, it forms a perfect cup which is easy to slide into the eyes.

Gently pull the upper eyelid away from the eyes and pull the lower lid down to facilitate the insertion of the Focus Dailies Toric. Do not use jerky movements while inserting the lens. Instead, stay calm and composed and try not blink when your insert the lens. Ensure the lens sits perfectly on the iris before closing your eyes. Let go of the lower lid first and then the upper eyelid. Take a few seconds to find out if you are experiencing any discomfort or irritation. If you are, then remove the lens and re-insert it.

Do not open your eyes immediately or rub your eyes vigorously after you have put on the Focus Dailies Toric or the Dailies AquaComfort Plus. Give your eyes a few seconds to adjust to the lens before you open them. If you are a first time user, you may not be able to get it right immediately. However, do not get frustrated or disappointed. Over a period of time, you will get used to it and be able to complete the entire task in a few seconds.
