If you have Windows 2000 based computer, you can follow these steps to install your Printer driver locally on a Windows 2000 computer: First click Start, point to Settings and Printers. Double-click on Add Printer to start your Add Printer Wizard. Click on My Computer and click Next. Click Add Port, then click Local Port, and click New Port. In your Port Name box, type your path to the printer in the following format, where your server is the name of your print server and the printer is the name of your printer: \serverprinter Lastly click OK, and click Close. Now, you have to remember that while using this procedure, your print job is printed locally and then it is redirected to your network path. When you are using this procedure, you will not receive Printer updates from the print server when you are updating your Printer driver on the print server.
