Installing A Shower Pan In Los Angeles

Once you get home, turn off the water to the shower. Make sure that the floor of the shower is perfectly dry or the installation will not be effective. You will need to make sure the mortar dries completely. Do not rush this process. It must be dry. Lay the membrane liner on top of the mortar as the shower pan instructs. Spread another even layer on top of the membrane liner as per the manufacturers instructions.

It is now time to lay the pan onto the mortar. Lay it directly on top. Take the time to make sure the pan is aligned with the rest of the shower. It must fit snuggly and securely so no moisture can seep through. The drain cover can now be screwed into the shower pan. Make sure you allow plenty of time, preferably at least overnight, for the mortar to dry. If in doubt let it dry longer before hooking back up the water and using it.
