Installing the Service Pack 2 on Windows Server 2008

This article aims to demonstrate how to installService Pack 2 on Windows Server 2008 quickly and easily.
What is Service Pack 2?
Service Pack 2 forWindows Server 2008 is an update toWindows Server 2008 compatible with new types of hardware and emerging standards and includes all updates sinceSP1. SP2 simplifies administration by allowing administrators to deploy, and support a single service pack for clients and servers.
Prerequisites
Ensure that your computer is runningWindows Server 2008 withService Pack 1.
You must uninstall anybeta versionof Service Pack 2 (SP2) before starting the installation ofService Pack 2.
You must have a genuine copy ofWindows Server 2008 installed on your computer.
You must have updateKB955430 installed on your computer.
Installing the Service Pack 2
1 - Access the URL below to download theService Pack 2 for Windows Server 2008:
The url above allows you to download theSP2 Windows Server 2008 for32-bitversion, which is supported in all languages. To download theSP2 Windows Server 2008 for64-bit version to access the url below.
In my example I am using anX86 platform, so I'll be downloading and installingSP2 for Windows Server 2008 x86 English.

3 - After the download is complete double click the fileWindows6.0-KB948465-x86.exe or you are using anx64 platform and have downloaded the same double-clickWindows6.0-KB948465-X64. exe. Will load a dialog box as shown in Figure 1.2.

4 - ClickNext to continue. Will load a dialog box as shown in Figure 1.3.

5 - Select the optionI accept the license terms and then clickNext. Will load a dialog box as shown in Figure 1.4.

6 - If you leave the option labeledAutomatically restart the computer, your computer will reboot automatically after installingSP2. Make your choice and then clickInstall. After SP2 installation is complete restart the computer will load the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.5.

7 - To check ifSP2 was installed on your computer, clickStart, and typewinverinStart Search and then pressEnter. Will load the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.6.
