Integrating the Paypal account with Zen Cart based ecommerce web design

The objective of the integration is that the payment shall be received into your account once the customer makes a purchase. Paypal services are one of the most used and easy to operate services. Now, if you want your customers to make the make the payments using the paypal account and into your own paypal account, you need to built this functionality in the ecommerce website design.

Here is how you can achieve the paypal integration with the Zen Cart module.

Step1: Get in to the Zen cart module of the ecommerce web design using your log in ID

Step 2: From the main menu, select the "modules" and then, the "payments".

Step 3: Click on the "PayPal IPN - Website Payments Standard"

Step 4: After you click it, you will see some information on the right side panel mentioning about the Instant Payment notification preferences URLs to be set as per the URL given therein. Also, you will get to see the "Automatic Return URL". Make a note of these two URLs since will be used in the PayPal

Step 5: Log in to your PayPal account, or if you do not have one, then you can create the same.

Step 7: Go the the "Profile" in Paypal and click the "Instant Payment notification preferences". Thereafter, you need to change the IPN settings. So, click on the "Edit IPN setting". You have got the enter the notification preferences URL which you earlier noted down. You must also select the "Receive IPN Messages" in enabled format.

Step 8: Save these setting

Step 9: Now, you have to enter the other URL which you noted down in the PayPal. For this, you again go to the profile page in Paypal and into the "Website Payment Preferences". Auto return shall be set 'on' and then the URL shall be entered.

Step 10: Select the "Payment Data Transfer" to ON. You will be issued an identity token and this shall be noted down.

Step 11: You will also see some other fields which need to be selected. So, for the Encrypted website payment or Contact Telephone Number, you shall set it to 'off'. Similarly, Express Check Out shall be set to 'No'.

Step 12: Save the settings in this "Website Payment Preferences" page.

Step 13: The next step to do at the PayPal site is to determine one of your primary email address. This serves as a crucial link between the PayPal and the Zen Cart module of your ecommerce web design. Normally, this is different from the others and what the customers get to see on their receipt is your customer services email of your website.

Step 14: Now, it is time to have a review of your business profile. You can get to it on the Profile page, under the "business information". All tax related and shipping related options shall be turned off.

Step 15: Come back to Zen Cart.

Step 16: Click "install" on "PayPal IPN - Website Payments Standard" button.

Step 17: Enter the primary email address that you earlier entered in Paypal

Step 18: Enter the identity token

Step 19: Set the currency

Step 20: Turn 'off' the debug mode and click update.

This completes the process of integrating Paypal with Zen Cart for ecommerce web design.
