Integration Of Ecommerce Website To Social Media

Whenever we go online for the purpose of shopping

, we always crave for that personalized shopping experience. Each individual has his own unique way of shopping, which means that everyone has his own way of looking at products, weighing in mind, the current pack of e-commerce websites need to immediately learn and provide the customer what he/she in looking for in online shopping websites.

What we also know is that once a visitor comes to your website, he will either look around your website and click on what seems relevant to his/her search or would be on his way out before you can notice him/her.

As is the case with a usual trip to a shopping store, if the basic motive of our search is not fulfilled, that is, if we do not immediately find what we are looking for, then we leave the store. The same is the case with an online store and this is exactly the kind of problem which a majority of e-commerce stores face.

They are unable to find out that missing ingredient which would keep their visitors hooked onto their website. But in reality, the solution is very near to home. Provide the customer what he/she is looking for in the best possible and attractive manner, and the customer is yours. Here is where the role of social media comes in as the social space merges more and more with online shopping.

The Solution to the Problem

Before we embark on the journey to create new e-commerce paradigms through social media, let us first have a look at the definition of Social Commerce. Social commerce has for long been accepted as a subset of electronic commerce. It involves using social media, online media that supports social interaction and user contributions. This is used to assist in the online buying and selling of products and services.

Phew!! Glad we had out of the way!

Now when we add the factor of personalization to all this technical gibberish, it all starts to make very good sense. This is where we get the term, Social eCommerce Personalization.

User generic layouts are totally out of fashion, relevance and a complete nonsense once you know the importance of social media. Otherwise too, social media has made users even more likely to expect all kinds of information being presented to them in a customized manner. Everything is expected to suite their personality, taste, and preference. The e-commerce websites too need to target users specific products based on their past shopping experiences, social profiles, and characteristics becomes an effective way of increasing conversions on ones site.

But what most of you us might mistake it as would be to turn our e-commerce website into a social site. This is not the answer, rather what we actually need to do is put that element of social shopping into our website. Given the vast number of social commerce personalization widgets available out there, integration would not be a problem.

Foresight is something not every one of us has, but even the ones who act on good advice act on time and benefit when others lag behind. Apply this thought to the article above and you surely would be sailing through.
