Intel ships Atom chips for servers, Windows and Linux at home
Intel today introduced update to the Atom processor-based platform for home and small business storage devices
. Updated chip offers increased productivity and supports the new memory technology, Intel said.
New D425 1.8 GHz(single core) and D525(dual core) processors are combined with the Intel 82801 IR I / O controller, which provides connectivity. Both the new processor supports Microsoft Windows Home Server and the open source Linux. Higher frequency processors CPU to faster processing and storage will support the next generation DDR3 SODIMM.
