home she wants to send her child to a daycare so as to give her child pre-school education. Need of good day care centers can never go out of demand. What you need to do first is to find a nice place in a commercial area as it will be convenient and satisfying for parents to leave their children at a place which is nearby their office. Further, it will also be easy for you as they will be on time to pick up their child as there will be not much of a distance between the day care and their office.

Don't forget to go through your local and state government rules and regulations before opening a day care. Licensed teachers are required if you desire to open a daycare center. For every 10 to 12 children one teacher may be required if children are 2-3 years old but if the children are some months old then maximum 6 children should be handled by one teacher. The state may also require a day care to appoint a licensed nurse in case of an emergency first aid treatment.

Also make sure that you must have the facility for 150 to 200 children. The number of children may differ as per the state rules and regulations but this is an ideal figure.

You will have to decide on your working hours; normally it is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you are planning to give meals to the children then u must arrange for a cook and a cooking area in your center. This on one hand will be convenient for the parents as they won't have to arrange for the meal and on the other hand you can add $8 to $12 in their billing for which they won't disapprove as well.

U must advertise your day care center to give basic information to the parents who might be looking for a day care center to help them make their decision a little easy. The information must include your complete address and phone number and if it is a video advertisement then a brief view of you day care center will be appropriate.

You will definitely be needing toys from newborns to 5 year old children. Make sure you have a variety of toys so that the children are busy playing all day long and do not miss their parents. Along with toys you also will be needing some flash cards, books, DVD's etc to start early education of the child. And also do not forget to make arrangement for children's nap.

You can even start this business on a smaller scale by starting with babysitting. Once you are capable of handling things and are aware of the pros and cons of this business you can move on a larger scale but if you directly want to start up with a day care center or already have an experience of babysitting then you know what to do!
