So I have the paint but now what? Well I suspect the first thing you want to do is rightfully make or get ready the room for paint. This means the walls should be wash soap and water. all the dry wall fixed where needed. Chalk all joints in the walls and trim then apply a coat of primer sealer before adding thosebeautiful colors you picked out. I want you to know, that I many times have the primer tinted to match the paint color. You would be taken by surprise by the variety and deepness the color can have after a good tinted primer base under neath the final coat.
So now you have completed these interior painting tasks
Here is the next step forward after preparing a room for paint time for trimming in
first. yes that right. I trim in initially and then put in the finish wall color. I make sure to mix
the paint I prepare my brushes trim applicators and my trim guides. Try not to work out of the gallon of paint. Buy more empty paint cans and add a little paint to that can and work out of that can. You should add about 2" of paint in the can and do not push the brush into the bottom of the can. Reserve the brush bristles tight and straight. .
When you apply the paint and trim out use the brush like a pen even strokes. don't assign the brush flat against the wall like a fish on the shore. Put in the paint with flow and watch where you brush is going. Try to hold a one inch or two inch trim in path nothing more.. The rest you will get with the paint roller when you get to that aspect. You always want the roller to be about an 1" off the trim or casing.
Don't try to get real close to the trim in the first stroke of the brush go back a few times and trim it in to get it more precise finish. Do not try todash what you are doing take your time keep the paint flowing naturally on the wall that is the trick even and uniform finish is what you want. One more thing, I want to cast to this article, is always maintain a rag in your back pocket just in case you get paint on the trim you can quickly wipe it off. If you let the paint sit you will find it much more complicated to evict later.
