So, the first step is to check the company out. Never trust a website that does not provide easy phone contact details. Also enquire to the full name of the persons you deal with before asking for any documents, for obvious reasons, to ensure they match. Though you may not be able to read the language, you will be able to see the similariies in the letters of the name by using an online translator in reverse, by typing the name you are told and transating it. Photos are also important, but they must be matched with photo i.d. You could ask the lady if she would send you a photo with her holding a piece of paper with your name on - that is pretty watertight - it may sound extreme but steps must be taken if you have not verified the agency identification first.

The Passport

In Russia and the Ukraine, everybody over 16 has a passport. Do not accept anything less. Of course you will need to be tactful with most ladies about this and the company should help you. You should offer and agree to provide yours also, however this is very much not likely to be requested because we will have already verified you as a valid active member.

Page 1 of the passport shows their full name and photo and passport number. This page is obviously crucial to confirming identity.

Page 10 of the passport shows marital status. I recommend you check that page also, as it will prove the lady is single, and if she is / has been married / divorced, with a stamp for each eventuality.

It is not too much to ask that they give you peace of mind with the security of the provision of identification. Just be tactful, and check the agency out first, and of course once that hurdle is out of the way, they will know that you are serious and will want to make further checks with the ladies you meet later.
