1) You need a product. It's true that you can still make an income online without a product if you market one as an affiliate. Doing things this way, you take a commission in the event of a sale referred to the merchant by yourself. Ideally though, you certainly want to be making steps towards creating and marketing your own product. You can either create it yourself or outsource the work to your standards. By marketing a product owned by another merchant, you can generate income to re-invest back into your business by creating your own product and having the necessary resources to do a good job of promoting it.


2) Setup up a website. If the technical aspects of doing this are a perceived obstacle, then pay someone to set it up for you. These days you can hire someone inexpensively on freelance sites to setup a website for you. The cost is nominal and it enables you to get started more quickly. You can also purchase good site builders with templates already provided. These usually employ WYSIWYG interfaces so you don't even need to know any code.


3) Get yourself an auto responder. This is critical and I highly advise you do not skimp on this section by either using an inferior service or by not investing the money so that you can build your own mailing list. With an auto responder, visitors to your site can join your mailing list and receive relevant emails from you. Do not miss out on the opportunity to build your list by not investing in an auto responder service.

4) Re-Invest Your Profits - When you begin making money as an internet marketer, don't rush out to the shops and start engaging in retail therapy. Instead, re-invest a good percentage of your profits back into your online education and into the expansion of your business.

5) You must work diligently and consistently. If fortunes could be easily made online, everyone would have their own internet marketing business. You must be willing to put in the work and keep going, even when things aren't happening as quickly as you would ideally like.
