The internet offers a plethora of opportunities for those who want to start their own businesses. But there are a lot of scams and false information traps a new marketer can fall into. So it's of paramount importance for the new people entering into the market to be aware and avoid bad information when trying to make money online.

In this regard I have outlined below several schemes or time wasting activities that a first-time internet marketer should avoid. A wise person should beware of what follows.

(1) PPC, CPA or PPV Systems:

These processes can be too complicated for the rank beginner. A lot of variables are at play here and may be a bit overwhelming for a new person. Pay Per Click (PPC), Cost Per Action (CPA), and Pay Per View (PPV) are all best left to someone who has more experience in the internet marketing field. So a beginning marketer should stay away from them at first. Later, they can be evaluated and a decision made whether to try them or not.

(2) Shop-To-Earn Programs:

These are similar to multi-level marketing (MLM) programs and should be avoided like the plague by new marketers. These programs ask you to invite your friends online to shop, using offline strategies. They deceive the public, especially regarding start-up costs.

(3) Information Overload:

While it's important for the new marketer to stay informed of happenings in his/her field, it is easy to get overloaded with all kinds of technical and marketing information. This is especially true if the beginner starts joining lists. He/she soons becomes inundated with invitations to webinars, free pdf's, and all kinds of different training.

The bottom line is to learn how to manage your time. When you find a method that works for you, stick with it and start building your income. As time permits, you can then begin to research new methods. Good luck.
