Internet Marketing Course – 2 Approaches to Promote Your Squidoo Lens Effectively

Squidoo is an extremely powerful tool for Internet Marketers to promote their affiliate products or their websites online

. However, many set up their Squidoo lens hastily and neglect it almost instantly. The seasoned Internet Marketers will know that consistent efforts in lens promotion are necessary for effective traffic generation.

There are 2 ways to promote your Squidoo lens and you may adopt both approaches currently.

1. Promotion Within Squidoo

Join a Lensroll

Lensrolling is a way to share and create your personal lens network. Go to the page where your lens is located and you will find a tab for Lensroll. Click on that and you will be brought to a page where you may select any of your current lenses to have it added to a Lensroll. I personally think this is a great way to promote your lenses within the community and you may even get some nice links and traffic to your lens page because Search Engines recognize these links.

Make Comments on Related Lenses

If you perform a search within Squidoo using the keywords that are relevant to your niche, you will get a list of related lenses. Within the list, you can sort by rank and pick those with high rankings. Then look for comment modules within these lenses for the purpose of adding comments and dropping off your lens page. This approach is similar to finding and leaving comments on popular Blogs that are related to yours.

2. Promotion Outside Squidoo

Social BookMarking

I have mentioned the power of Social BookMarking in my previous articles. In short, this is a way to leave bookmarks online on Social BookMarking sites such as delicious and digg. Again, this is a great way for Search Engine spiders to direct traffic to your lens where you offer your product promotion.

Article Marketing

Most people use Article Marketing for promoting their affiliate links or their websites. This is because they were taught to do so by seasoned Marketers out there. If you do not have your own website at this moment, I would suggest you use Article Marketing right away to promote your lens. It is a very effective way to drive traffic. The key is to be consistent in articles submission and to pick at least 3 to 5 article directories to submit your articles.

Pinging Your Lens

You may have been told to ping your posts regularly. Well, the same goes with your Squidoo lens. Pinging tools such as ping-o-matic are very popular. I would recommend pinging your lens at least once every week.
